What exactly do some of these services offer? Here is a closer look:

Apple Music

Apple Music is our second favorite and audiophile’s choice in the Best Streaming Services guide because the entire library of over 90 million songs is available in lossless format, and you’ll get immersive 3D sound with albums tuned in Dolby Atmos. It has an excellent iPhone app and Siri support, but the Android app is okay, and we’re not fans of the desktop app. Sharing and organizing your social playlist isn’t quite in line with our favorite service, Spotify, but the gap is narrowing. If you want to switch from Spotify to Apple Music, you can also take your playlists.

+ Apple TV

Focusing on quality over quantity, Apple TV+ doesn’t compete with the massive libraries offered by Netflix, Disney+, and Hulu, and it deserves its place in our guide to the best streaming services. It’s light on the movies, although there are highlights, like The tragedy of MacbethAnd the WolfwalkerAnd the pulsate. But the real attraction of Apple TV + is the hit shows like Ted Lasso And the morning showIt also boasts excellent music documentaries. Everything is rendered in 4K with HDR, and you don’t need an Apple TV to watch content on Apple TV+.

Apple Arcade

Three years after its launch, Apple Arcade’s impact on mobile gaming is still unclear. The thing not up for discussion is the fact that it offers some of the best mobile games without ads or in-app purchases. There are now over 200 titles, many of which are exclusive. Some of our favorites include mini highwaysAnd the Sayonara Wild HeartsAnd the sneaky sasquatchAnd the fantasyAnd the carefully assemble.

iCloud

Everyone gets 5GB of iCloud storage for free, but that space quickly fills up with device backups, photos, and videos. You can upgrade to 50GB, 200GB, or 2TB, and each Family Sharing option is supported. There are many alternative cloud storage services that work well with Apple devices, but iCloud is fully integrated. Aside from the extra space, another reason to upgrade iCloud is HomeKit Secure Video. It allows HomeKit security cameras and video doorbells to record 10-day activity, which can be viewed in the Home app. The 50 GB plan supports one camera, the 200 GB plan covers up to five cameras, and the 2 TB plan supports an unlimited number of cameras. These HomeKit videos don’t count toward your iCloud storage limit.

Apple News +

If you love reading cool magazines like (ahem) WIRED, National GeographicAnd the New YorkerAnd the timeAnd the the peopleAnd the Vogue magazineAnd the rolling rockAnd the popular scienceor newspapers like The Wall Street Journal And the los angeles times, You can find it and many more, cover to cover, in the News app with an Apple News+ subscription. It saves you from paywalls, features great presentation, and offers organization based on your interests. On the downside, it doesn’t include everything—New York times And the Washington Post It is notoriously unavailable. It also only works on Apple devices.

Apple Fitness +

Exercise subscription services grew in popularity at the start of the pandemic, as people could no longer visit the gym. Apple Fitness + offers different types of exercise from yoga to strength training, walking and jogging with voice guidance and meditations along with loads of real-time metrics. Works via the Fitness app on iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV, and requires Apple Watch Series 3 or later. You can read more about it in our review, but it has since expanded.
