Hulu doesn’t have a hidden menu, but you can still use these tricks

Hulu has some lesser known features that may enhance your streaming experience.

But what about Hulu’s features?

While the platform isn’t as intuitive to use as I’d like, I’ve found plenty of ways to improve the viewing experience. I am sorry to say that Hulu lacks secret codes It unlocks genre listings and other content categories like Netflix, but by using these tricks you can still add a little fascination to your streaming stream.

One thing before diving into it: I’ve learned the hard way that Hulu’s functions don’t work the same across all devices. This discrepancy can be frustrating, but you can check which supported devices work best with these tips by visiting the Hulu Help Center.

Use widgets for your mobile phone

Are you used to watching the Hulu app on your phone? Android and iPhone users can switch to Hulu’s dedicated widget that offers one click to content you’ve already been watching or suggestions for new titles.

iOS users can tap and hold an empty space on their screen and when the plus sign pops up, type Hulu. You will be prompted to choose one of two tools: Go Back or Discover.

If you have an Android phone, tap an empty spot on your screen and then tap the Tools icon. Search for Hulu in the search bar and then click on the tool you want to use. You will have the option to choose from Continue Watching or New Content.

Add and remove channels in your list

Live TV subscribers follow a different set of steps. Open the Hulu app and tap axles. Scroll down to the AZ section to select the network channels you want, then tap Add to my stuff, or choose them from one of the other classes for entertainment, sports, etc. To check that they’re part of your channel list, tap He lives tab and click my channels.

To remove any of these networks from your Hulu homepage, simply find the network icon in My Stuff and click Remove.

Customize your translations

Like Netflix, Hulu gives you the ability to customize on-screen subtitles. You can change the font, background, and window appearance for your programming. Open the app on your TV and go to your profile icon. click Settings And the Open subtitles and captions existing. You can change the font color, opacity, and shading and make the same adjustments to the background and window.

This formatting process will only work on supported devices running the latest Hulu version. Specific forms of Roku, Android TV, Samsung and Apple TV (4th generation) may not have this function.

Pause your subscription

Going out on a trip? Need a break from one of your monthly bills? You can temporarily put Hulu on ice for up to 12 weeks. Go to your account page and find your subscription column. click pause On the Pause your subscription Tape and choose how long you want Hulu to stop.

You will not be billed during this time but note that the freeze begins on the first day of the next billing cycle. Additionally, know that if you bundle Disney Plus and/or ESPN Plus with your Hulu subscription, access to these apps will be paused as well.

Unless you restart your subscription manually, your account will be automatically reactivated on the expiration date of your pause. This will become your new billing date.

Disable autoplay

If you use Netflix regularly, you are probably familiar with the autoplay feature that moves to the next episode or preview. Hulu does the same thing, and you can turn it on or off.

For TVs and mobile devices, tap your profile icon and then select Settings. switch auto start To turn off videos or previews. If you’re streaming Hulu on a web browser, tap the gear icon while playing to open it Settings. switch auto start To whom.

Clean your viewing history

Are you done watching binge-making your way through each of the few seasons of the show? How about that horror movie from last Halloween? If you want to re-watch a piece of content from the beginning or have a desire to de-clutter your watch history, there is a way to remove what you’ve already watched.

On your TV, go to the series or movie details page. Click the gear icon that says Chain management. You will be asked to confirm whether or not you want to remove the title from your watch history. Selection Removal Not only will it delete it from your history and your Continue Watching list, it will also erase your viewing progress of an entire series or movie. This is useful if you want to watch something again.
