When it comes to gaming desktops, there are many possibilities. The mainstream track is going with something like the HP Omen 30L. It packs some serious hardware, looks great, and is easy to upgrade. At the other end of the PC building spectrum is DIY – you can spend hours and days building your own custom platform.
In between these two extremes is CLX Gaming.
Owned and operated in Wichita, Kansas, under the direction of CybertronPC, CLX Gaming makes custom-made computers, including laptops, for anyone with certain tastes and desires. Company offered Windows Central An absolute mandate to configure and test one of its builds. Let’s say we truly Take them on offer.
This article is the first part of the CLX Ra – arguably one of the most impressive and great looking desktops we’ve tested. It weighs 55 pounds and costs more than $7,300: a true beast.
Here’s what it’s like to order one and get it in the mail.

Most enthusiastic PC enthusiasts argue to build your own desktop system. After all, it’s fun, and often cheaper, as you learn a lot about computers. That’s how I did it 20 years ago, and it helped me get to where I am today.
You may need a Ph.D. In the geek to complete the application process.
But today’s PC landscape is more complex. If you’re new to it, you can spend weeks and months preparing for the right device. It’s a stressful, and frankly, mainly youthful hobby because making time in your teens and twenties is a lot easier than it was in your forties (speaking from experience). I also know nothing about setting up a water cooling system or boutique cable management – it’s not simple things if you’re new to it.
Likewise, the ordering process for a CLX computer reflects the abundance of components today. You can choose a pre-built system from them and call it daily. Or you can go down the path of choosing a case size and go crazy as orderd Menu to build your own.
One of the 300 steps to choosing your PC, it’s not that we’re complaining.Source: CLX
This is what we did and we went with CLX Ra – the largest complete tower you can go from the site. and here He is Large – almost 2 feet tall!
The sheer number of options that the CLX offers is almost overwhelming. After choosing Ra, we had to choose either the standard chassis or liquid cooling. We, of course, chose the latter. Between the two categories, there were a staggering 19 options. We still have to choose the exterior paint design (11 options), the finish (three options), the technology (four options), the fans (13), and the lighting (three).
The sheer amount of ingredient options is almost overwhelming – but also impressive.
Then it came to the “core components”, which includes the CPU, the motherboard, the GPU, the memory, the power supply, the cables, the storage, the RAID, the audio controller… that’s pretty cool. You can’t complain that CLX doesn’t give you a choice.
CPU options range from Intel 11th Gen Core i7 and i9 (17 choices) to Ryzen 7 and 9 and even Threadripper (11 choices).
It’s all exhausting but also impressive. CLX does what most DIY makers do, except for the labor and shipping they all do. Sure, you pay for it, but the system I ended up building was never one I could compile without extensive research (and perhaps practice), eg:

In fact, I had to get Rich Edmonds, our chief builder of computer towers, to help pick out motherboards, RAM, and more only because it’s been years since I’ve read on the latest hardware and which ones are the best.
But, what is the PSU that defines who I am?Source: CLX
For those curious, we Act Tried asking AMD Threadripper for a laugh, but with the cost ballooning to $16,000, the CLX wisely brought us back to reality. But we’re just saying, you could theoretically build a $16,000 PC if you had the fortitude (and the cash).
We also did not go to Double RTX 3090s because we didn’t feel disrupted by the quantum world, but that’s also possible.
I’ll need a bigger box

I have been covering computers for many years now Windows Central and I got Much of review units but I was not contacted by UPS Freight to schedule a delivery. UPS Freight is for heavy-duty, oversized cargo, arriving in what looks like a moving truck with a hydraulic jack.

The CLX Ra landed in a giant, well-made box on a pallet, which is daunting. Luckily I have a 2 car garage where UPS had to use a small forklift to bring it inside so I could start opening the trunk. The box is wrapped in plastic and has metal latches and papers are attached. It was all a little funny to play video games, but I don’t make the rules.
Getting this computer monster out of its box felt like opening the Ark of the Covenant to get out of Indiana Jones. Fortunately, there were no beams of light, but the power within them was equally remarkable. Inside the box is a cardboard box that fits perfectly. Open the box, and the CLX Ra is also wrapped in plastic wrap with 3-inch-thick sealed foam inserts at all four corners to absorb shock during its ride. Inside the computer tower, all the water-cooled tubes, the graphics card, and critical components were reinforced with Styrofoam inserts so that nothing vibrated as they passed. Everything is very professional and much better than my iBuyPower experience a few years ago.

CLX Ra by herself It weighs an unusual 25kg, so you may need a second hand to help unload it and transport it to its final destination (unfortunately for me, this meant moving to my main office, not my home).

Overall, CLX’s packaging and support are great. Once set up and plugged in, the Ra runs with great lighting and the Core i9 and RTX 3090 come to life.
Now it’s time to play.

So, how good is this gaming giant – especially a GeForce card and the latest Intel processor? So, you’ll have to wait for my review early next week. There, we’ll take a closer look at temperatures, fan performance, features, lighting, and more, so stay tuned!
Do you have any questions you want answered in this review? Leave it below and tell me what you think of this setup – what would you like to change or do differently?
